Lawrence Chrismas is a photographer, author, mining historian and storyteller living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. For more than 25 years he has explored the culture of Canadian miners through his environmental portraits and thoughtful synopsis of the stories of their lives. His photographs are in various private and public collections and have been exhibited in galleries across Canada. He has written and published two major books and three smaller books and a music CD of original mining songs.

Lawrence was been awarded a fellowship in the Canadian Institute of Mining and is a life member of the Institute. He was recently conferred as a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts for his contribution to the arts through his documentary photography. Lawrence is a member of Independent Publishers Association of Canada, Story Tellers of Canada and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
